What an amazing performance by Novak Djokovic. He definitely put to rest the debate of the greatest tennis player of all-time.
…and remember, this I say without being a Djokovic fan.

After years of recreational playing and non-competing, I decided to start competing again. I joined a couple of leagues, as well as two tournaments… singles and doubles both.
Here we go!
What an amazing match! Without a doubt, we just witnessed the best final match in all World Cup history.
Congratulations Argentina!
Let the fun begin!
I have absolutely no idea who is going to win this world cup.
I feel this is the first time in all World Cup history, that there isn’t a single favorite team above the rest. We do have a few strong teams that you would probably consider safe bets to win over the rest, but not by much though.
The sport has globalized so much, that I believe this World Cup will be filled with surprises and upsets. Maybe a small unknown and unheralded team may be even to make it to the late stages of the tournament, like the semifinals.
Anyway, below I will list my predictions for this world cup:
Good luck!
One year ago, moments after defeating Tstisipas in five sets in the third round of the 2021 US Open, I told my dear friend Carlos Luis Vargas: “This kid Alcaraz will win a Grand Slam in 2022.”
Congratulations Carlos Alcaraz!

Their jersey prevailed.
They knocked out PSG, Chelsea, Manchester City by a one goal difference.
They defeated Liverpool by 1-0.
There are clubs, there are good glubs, great clubs, legendary clubs… and there is Real Madrid.

Nadal is just unbelievable.
Even when he has already shut our mouths so many times in the past and we think he will not be able to do it again, guess what happens.
I have said it before and will say it once more. Choose whoever you want for the debate of the best tennis player of all time. If the fate of the Earth and all of humanity -including my own life- was on the line and depended on one tennis match, I would give my racket to Rafael Nadal.
Congratulations to Rafa!
Congratulations for the Atlanta Braves for winning the World Series after defeating the Houston Astros four games to two.
It was their fourth World Series title in the franchise’s history and their first since 1995 back when the Maddux / Glavine / Smoltz combination led them over the Cleveland Indians. To think they were so close to winning back-to-back championships when they let the New York Yankees stage a comeback after being up by two games to one, and 6 runs to 0 in the fourth game.
Ahh… the 90s…

Well, Djokovic tried.
While Medvedev put on a superb display, I do feel that occasion got too much into Novak’s head and he froze. Had the record not been at stake, he probably would have fared better.
Congrats to Daniil!
The fourth and last major of the year begins in two weeks, and all eyes are on Novak Djokovic as he aims to become the first player to win all four majors during a calendar year since Steffi Graff achived it in 1988 and Rod Laver on the men’s side in 1969. Will hesucceed?
Novak is the best player on the tour period. When he is playing at one hundred percent of his powers, nobody can stop him. Only Nadal has a slight chance of beating him in Roland Garros -but that’s a different story-. So what can happen at Flushing Meadows?
There are three players who can reach the US Open Finals this year: Medvedev, Zverev and Djokovic. Depending on how the bracket turns out, one of them will be knocked out in the semifinals or earlier (they all can’t be on the same side of the bracket). Out of the two new comers, it all comes down to who between Medvedev and Zverev can beat the Djoker. Medvedev has the raw power to hit winners and displace Djokovic, and the attitute of playing with nothing to lose as we have successfully seen employed in the past by Murray and Wawrinka against Djokovic. Zverev, may not have what it takes.
However back in Melbourne we all witnessed how Novak was able to outsmart Medvedev and dismantled his game in a straight-sets victory. The difference is that if they play in New York, Novak will have a lot more pressure, which is something he has proved he is able to deal with.
Long story short, it’s a very close call, but overall I believe the finals will be Medvedev vs. Djokovic, and I am honestly giving a 50-5o chance to both.
